LibraryLand Overload

I'm back from almost two weeks on the road at library workshops and conventions.  It's great to be home.  Last week I was on a panel discussion about librarycart.gifgraphic novels at a children's librarians conference.  Put 170 children's librarians together and you will not be bored - freaked out maybe, but NOT bored!  I highly respect children's librarians and think they have one of the toughest jobs in libraries.  For me, graphic novels are an exciting visual interpretation of literature in the same way that audiobooks are an equally exciting aural interpretation of literature.  Both can make the standard book more appealing, accessible and entertaining to the general public.  This week was the Kentucky Library Association Conference in Louisville.  I love Louisville but hate downtown traffic.  Did lots of hob-nobbing, attended some interesting sessions and saw some old friends.
