Three Hearts and Three Lions - Recently Received for Review

http://www.blackstoneaudio.com/img/bookimglarge/6221.jpgThe gathering forces of the Dark Powers threaten the world of man. The legions of Faery, aided by trolls, demons, and the Wild Hunt itself, are poised to overthrow the Realms of Light. Holger Carlsen, a bemused and puzzled twentieth-century man mysteriously snatched out of time, finds himself the key figure in the conflict. Arrayed against him are the dragons, giants, and elfin warriors of the armies of Chaos and the beautiful sorceress Morgan le Fay. On his side are a vague prophecy, a quarrelsome dwarf, and a beautiful woman who can turn herself into a swan, not to mention Papillon, the magnificent battle horse, and a full set of perfectly fitting armor, both of which were waiting for him when he entered the magical realm. The shield bears three hearts and three lions—the only clue to Holger Carlsen’s true identity. Could Carlsen really be a legendary hero, the only man who can save the world?

And worse, finding Mom is only a small part of what they must do, thanks to the barbaric Taksidian. His ruthless quest to seize their house and its power from them has put not only the family but all of mankind in grave danger.

Somehow, the key to it all hinges on Uncle Jesse’s words to the boys: “Fixing time is what our family was made to do.” But how can they fix a world that has been turned upside down—much less ever find their way home?

At long last, the secrets of the house and the King family are revealed in the stunning conclusion to this epic series.

I Will Fear No Evil - Recent Arrival for Review

http://www.blackstoneaudio.com/img/bookimglarge/5748.jpgAs startling and provocative as his famous Stranger in a Strange Land, here is Heinlein’s grand masterpiece about a man supremely talented, immensely old, and obscenely wealthy who discovers that money can buy everything.

Johann Sebastian Bach Smith was immensely rich—and very old. Though his mind was still keen, his body was worn out. His solution was to have surgeons transplant his brain into a new body. The operation was a great success—but the patient was no longer Johann Sebastian Bach Smith. He was now fused with the very vocal personality of his gorgeous, recently deceased secretary, Eunice—with mind-blowing results! Together they must learn to share control of her body.

Fender Bender

Had a great time this past week at the Kentucky Public Library Associaiton's annual conference. On the way back home I stopped at a rest-stop and as I was leaving, backed into another car. Fortunately, damage was minimal for both vehicles, although I did smash in my bumper. As I was driving a state vehicle, it has that irritating sticker - "how's my driving?" In answer to that question, a picture is worth a thousand words...
